Accommodations

Donia and Noah are not sure yet where they will be staying while in New Orleans, but we wanted to offer hotel room wedding blocks as an option and point of reference for anyone who might be interested. However, please do not feel any obligation to stay there if you prefer to find your own accommodations. There are a good number of hotels, AirBnBs, and other options in New Orleans.

Wedding room block details and booking instructions for the Marriott and Holiday Inn are listed below.

Below the room block info are also some alternative and general recommendations for where to stay during your visit.

New Orleans Marriott Wedding Block Room Rate: $169.

Located on Canal Street seconds from the French Quarter and only a few minutes walk from the river and the 5 minute ferry you can take to within a few blocks of the wedding venue in Algiers Point.

You can also make reservations by telephone at 1-888-771-4429. When making reservations by telephone, please identify yourselves as part of the Winn-Ritzenberg/Khalifa Wedding Room Block staying at the New Orleans Marriott and indicate your desired dates.

Holiday Inn Downtown New Orleans Wedding Block Room Rate $139 per night (with a 2 night minimum)

Located a few minutes from the French Quarter and a 20 minutes walk from the river and ferry.

For this wedding block there is a two night minimum and the group rate only applies to the nights of May 12th (the night before the wedding) and May 13th (the night of the wedding). However if you call to book, they may give you the group rate on additional nights.

A few general tips:

• Donia and Noah have stayed at both the Hilton (St. Charles Ave) and the Intercontinental in the past. Both are in the Central Business District in New Orleans. They are both very nice and conveniently located if you are looking for something a bit nicer but relatively affordable.

• Accommodations in the French Quarter are extra loud and expensive (so is parking), and the French Quarter is just across Canal Street from the Warehouse/Central Business District (CBD) as well as Downtown/Superdome area, where you can often get better hotel prices without really sacrificing much convenience.

• AirBnB can be a good option, particularly if you want to stay close to the wedding venue, in Algiers Point.

• If you are going to have a car, or are up for some cabs, ferries, and/or streetcars, then you might want to consider the Garden district, Mid-City, Uptown, or Algiers.
